August 2010

Expanded Menu at the Cock & Bull

In addition to their classic bar food - including hot wings, dips and nachos - and popular sloppers added a few months ago, the Cock & Bull now serves a Deli Platter with cold cuts, cheeses, fresh Batter Brothers bread, muffuletta & garnish, which you might recognize as similar to something known around this town as a Dutch Lunch. Perfect to share with a few friends. Tues-Sat 3pm-2am. Also open Sundays at noon with Bloody Mary Madness!

The Cock & Bull, 325 S. Union, 719-404-1800.

Colorado Wine Dinner

Following up on the popular Italian and Spanish wine dinners earlier this year, 80/Twenty Wines and the Pueblo Convention Center will host another themed wine dinner on Friday, August 20th at 5:30pm. Featuring the food and wines of Colorado, the dinner will consist of four courses plus hors d'oeuvres prepared by Executive Chef, Eric Copeland, each paired with a complementary wine.

80/Twenty owner, John Myers, will offer insights into the up-and-coming Colorado wines. The cost is just $50 per person, inclusive of tax and tip. Reserve through the Convention Center at 719-542-1100.

Taqueria Open on Routt

Taqueria Sonora opened a few months ago in the space occupied by Galileo's - back when it was really just a diner. Joining a growing Pueblo contingent of restaurants offering "Authentic Mexican Food," Taqueria Sonora doesn't tout its Pueblo green chile, but it does have soft tacos, burritos, and tortas (sandwiches) in many varieties, including carne asada, barbacoa, shimp and tripe, as well as menudo and a variety of seafood dishes. Open 9am-8pm every day except Tuesdays. Taqueria Sonora, 1227 E. Routt, 719-583-7824.

Wine Tasting

On Wednesday, August 25, 80/Twenty Wines will host a wine tasting at DC's on B Street from 6- 8pm. $20 per taster includes everything for a perfect date, or night out with the girls: hors d'oeuvres, wines, tax and gratuity. Taste wines you don't come across every day: Unique Wines & Grapes is the theme.

Reservations and information available through 80/Twenty Wines, 415 N. Greenwood St. (@ 5th St.), Suite C; 719-543-WINE (9463) or 80twentywines.com.
