Ask Legendary: September 2009
Dear Legendary,
What's with all these anti-government healthcare fanatics, yelling and shaking their fists all over the place? They all look like they're on government healthcare of some sort: SSI, Medicare-perhaps they're VA hypochondriacs? They obviously qualify for community mental health services. They should be chanting, "I got mine, screw you. I got mine, screw you."
What's the deal?
-Baffled
Dear Baffled,
The far right's hysterical reaction to healthcare is based on their terror that anti-psychotic drugs will become widely available. This will lift the conservative fog that has plagued the United States for the last 30 years. Coast to Coast radio also fears anti-psychotic drugs. Art Bell and his zombie army would be forced to come out of their caves, wake up, smell the jet fuel and get jobs.
The drug companies, insurance providers, HMOs and financially struggling doctors need not worry. The deluded faithful have been dictating policy on their behalf for some time, and it's not about to stop.
Take a moment and consider the amount of advertising money that is spent by drug and insurance companies, and the leverage that money represents to the national media. Then consider the amount of advertising money represented by the underinsured of America. Parents with an asthmatic child don't have a lot of cash to spend on lobbyists.
The sad truth is that most of these anti-government healthcare advocates don't care about healthcare at all. Their real agenda is to hand president Obama and the democrats a defeat and they'll drive the whole bus off of a cliff to prove their point.
Don't get sick.

P.S. Hats off to Dick Army-we all dance to your dark tune. The sincere often become willing tools of men like you.
