Barfly: February 2010

This in response to the article Adam Gazzola wrote about the Pirates Cove in downtown Pueblo.

This is a man who can walk into a situation and see nothing but negativity. How "gay" is that? Instead of mentioning the fine artwork and the beautiful hand crafted unique furnishings and the fact we cater to all walks of life, he focused on some imaginary drama.

As assistant manager of the bar, I am aware of all disturbances and there has not been a hair pulling fight in at least 3 years. Sure, there are arguments and a bit [of] shoving but nowhere to the degree Adam wrote about. Perhaps he is merely preparing for a future with the National Enquirer where getting the story is more important than accurate reporting. Apparently, Adam just wanted to "pick" on the gays at the local gay friendly bar, which is his freedom. Personally, I feel he should spread his horizons, put a little love in his heart and get a f@*k%n haircut.

Medical Marijuana Dispensary Update: February 2010

I would like to make a few comments concerning this article. I am a caregiver in the county of Pueblo, and also hold Medical Marijuana informational public meetings every month. I am appalled that you give Tom Sexton all this publicity when there are two other dispensaries operating in Pueblo West right now (Organic Solutions and Marisol Therapeutics) of which you didn't mention [...] In fact you said the only place to go is Colorado Springs or Denver, not to mention the multiple local care givers. Also it seems to be sad that you are making these comments without doing any research or talking to other people who are trying to follow the laws.

Thank you for the time,
Scott Nelson
