2for20_1111I wake up late on a Tuesday in my home on the far Southside of Pueblo. The fire in the fireplace place has not made it through the night and it is cold. I curse the air. A quick shower and I am on my bike, headed out into the cold, late October morn'. I curse the air once again.

2-for-20"We all know how it goes. It starts with an over-sized, fried appetizer, and "Sure, I'll get my baked potato loaded," progressing to a few over-priced drinks. Sometimes after going out to a nice dinner, you just feel sick and bloated. And the only thing that's lighter is your bank account by sixty dollars."

2 for $20: The Hangar

It is so hard to find The Hangar. I mean you can see it "plane" as day as you drive south on I-25 just before exit 100A (to La Junta). But because of what seems like poor planning on the city's part, exit 100A only takes you east of the highway. So you end up driving all the way down to 13th Street, then driving up and down streets in that residential neighborhood north of Mineral Palace Park not finding it and giving up and eating at Chipotle for the second time in two days.

When I was a child, food tasted better. People were nicer to each other, children were well-behaved, the country was headed in the right direction and the world was beautiful. One of the most exciting places I've ever been to was nestled in the corner of Pueblo's City Park.

On a Friday afternoon I take a short bike ride down hill from my house to meet a good friend for lunch. As I walk into one of the businesses under the Abriendo Arms apartments, I find the new coffee house owned by Jodene McNeal and Lisa Becker.
